Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been nominated for the 2014 Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award.Now he is one of six candidates for this award.

Cristiano Ronaldo has already won FIFA Ballon d'Or and World Player of year award, now facing tough competition from Formula 1 racer Sebastian Vettel.

2014 was really a successful year for Ronaldo as he was the leading scorer of the year.He scored 61 goals in overall competitions.

He was the leading scorer of Champions League with 17 goals, also most goal scored by individual in Champions League history, helped Real Madrid to win the tittle 10th time.

Ronaldo scored 2 goals against Sevilla in 2-0 win during Super Cup.

Currently he is leading scorer of hat-tricks in La Liga, this season scored 4 times. Now he is also leading scorer of La Liga with 28 goals, also assisted 9 times in league.

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored total 37 goals in overall competition during this season.

Laureus Awards Ceremony will held in Shanghai and result of winner of the award,will be announced on 15 April.

Real Madrid are also nominated for Laureus World Team of the Year and his team mate James Rodriguez has been nominated for the Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award.
